We channel chaos into good times.

These days everything seems to be overrun with the lifeless minions of all that is boring. They go by many names. To the Discordians, they’re greyfaces. Subgenii know them as pinks. A famous Scottish comedian calls them the Beigeists.

Whatever name you prefer, one thing remains true: in these dark and beige days, we all need a break from the straight and narrow.

Here at Devil Monkey games, we encourage everyone to not only be the best they can be, but also help others to be the best they can be. We’re all in this together. With a few exceptions, every project we currently have running is in some way educational even if it isn’t completely obvious. Even the ones that aren’t educational for you, our dear audience, are educational for us as we learn to make things work better.

3D and AI Development

Ethan has a very bad day

At Devil Monkey Games, we focus almost exclusively one 3D games. Part of this is simply personal preference in the Monkey Pit, but it’s largely an acknowledgement that 3D is just how most modern games are. There are holdouts and legacy series, but for the most part anything that isn’t a tile-based puzzle game is going to be 3D.

We also, by necessity, develop AI for our games.  Our goal is to make the AI as modular as possible for use in the greatest number of products.  This ranges from simple guided missile code to full GOAP systems.

Hence Ethan’s very bad day.

Continuous Improvement

At Devil Monkey Games, continuous improvement isn’t a buzzword we use to sound all impressive, it’s a way of life.  Your head monkey wrangler devotes at least 30 hours a week to education, and the rest of our organization takes pains to develop existing and new skills almost every day.  This should be evident from watching our demo games progress from Rokkit through Hovercraft Bumper Cars to the FPS alpha test.  With every iteration or release our products get better, and that’s how it should be.  You will never see Devil Monkey Games simply reskin an existing game and release it (maybe with a few minor improvements) as the All New And Amazing Spiffy Game That Will Change Your Life.
